คำถามแบบนี้จะถามรายละเอียดซึ่งปรากฎใน passage มักจะเริ่มต้นด้วยวลี “ According ot the passage ,…….” หรือ “ According to the author ,…..”
Tip : คำตอบของคำถามประเภทนี้หาได้โดยตรงจากเรื่องที่อ่าน ซึ่งบางครั้งอาจมีการแปลงคำพูดหรือโครงสร้างไปบ้าง โดยความหมายคงเดิม (Restatement)
จากเนื้อเรื่องมีใจความว่า “We invited Mr. Clinton, Mrs. Clinton and their children to our party tonight.”
คำตอบที่ถูกต้องอาจเป็นการถอดความ (Restatement) ดังนี้
“Mr. Clinton and his family were invited to our party tonight.”
3. คำถามประเภทแฝงความหมาย(Inference Question)
คำถามประเภทนี้ จะหาคำตอบจากเนื้อเรื่องไม่ได้โดยตรง เพราะเนื้อเรื่องไม่ได้ให้ไว้ แต่เราต้องตีความหรือสรุปความเพื่อหาคำตอบ เช่น ในเนื้อเรื่องบอกว่า
Jack hasn’t I seen Mary since 1990.
เราอาจตีความได้ดังนี้
 1) Jack didn’t see Mary in 1995.
2) Jack and Mary still haven’t met each other.

คำถามที่ใช้กันเป็นประจำ ได้แก่

เราสามารถตีความจากเนื้อเรื่องได้ว่า …………….
– Which of the following can be inferred from the announcement?
ข้อใดต่อไปนี้ที่เป็นการวินิจฉัยความจากประกาศ
– The author implies that………..
ผู้เขียนบอกเป็นนัยว่า ………..
– Which of the following does the passage imply?
ข้อใดที่เนื้อเรื่องบอกเป็นนัยไว้
